Marleen Stegeman -A personal history
Marleen Stegeman - September 11, 1960 - Vriezenveen, The Netherlands
Dutch Artist, Poet, and Songwriter Self-taught, with a background in Social Studies.
For as long as I can remember, I have loved drawing and painting. I began writing poetry at the age of 16.
I cannot be measured, I cannot be found, I just.. Tell a story About what life is all about.
Before I started selling my work, it was evaluated on its quality by the curator of the Frans Hals Museum in Haarlem. I began selling my work in the late 1980s, including pieces on paper and acrylic on canvas, to various art lovers. The Dutch government purchased some of my work for embassies, including those in Berlin, London, and Warsaw.
My sculptures, ranging from large to small, including scale models, are made from various materials such as driftwood, marl, and steel. Some of these have been realized into physical forms.
I am highly sensitive and live a withdrawn life.
